Privacy Policy
The short version. GAINS keeps your data on your phone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app makes exactly one kind of network request, it carries no name and no identifier, and everything this policy describes can be checked against the list below rather than taken on trust.
Who we are
GAINS is published by Nexcore Solutions LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app stores, what — if anything — leaves your device, and what you can do about it.
What GAINS stores, and where
Everything below is written to a database inside the app's own private storage area on your phone. We do not have a copy. There is no server holding your account, because there is no account.

We do not collect your race or ethnicity, your location, your contacts, your photos, your health records, or anything from other apps. GAINS does not ask for those permissions, so it could not read them if it tried.
Device backups
If you have iCloud Backup or Google Backup switched on, your device's own backup may include the app's data, the same as for any other app. That backup is between you and Apple or Google — it does not come to us, and we cannot read it.
The one thing that leaves your device
GAINS writes its notification lines using an AI model, so that the app does not repeat itself. To do that, while the app is open on screen, it asks our server for a batch of lines suited to your current situation.
That request contains seven values and nothing else:

Deliberately, the counts are sent as bands rather than numbers. The server is told "a few" and never "three". It is told which way your weight is moving and never what you weigh.
The request does not contain your name, your weight, any date or time, any device identifier, any advertising identifier, any account, any IP-derived location, or anything you have typed other than the choices above. Your name is inserted into the finished line on your phone, after the line comes back.
Because this is an ordinary internet request, our server necessarily sees the IP address it came from. It is used only to stop one device making an unreasonable number of requests, is held in memory for at most an hour, and is never written to a database or a log file.
Who processes that request
- Supabase Inc. hosts the small function that receives the request. It stores nothing.
- xAI Corp. generates the candidate lines from the seven values above. Requests are sent through our account, and xAI receives no name, no identifier and nothing that identifies you. Under xAI's published API terms, requests and responses are held encrypted for 30 days for abuse monitoring and are then deleted automatically. xAI states that it does not train its models on them.
We tell you the 30-day figure because it is the only point at which anything derived from your use of GAINS rests anywhere other than your phone — and what rests there is seven coarse values with nothing attached to say whose they are.
Every line that comes back is checked on your device before it can ever be shown, and anything that breaks the app's content rules is discarded rather than displayed.
If you would rather it did not happen at all
GAINS ships with a built-in set of written lines and works fully without generation. Turning off the device's network connection, or using the app offline, simply means it draws on that built-in set. Nothing breaks and no notification is missed.
Notifications
Notifications are scheduled by your own phone, by the operating system, from lines already stored on it. There is no push server and GAINS never registers for a push token. This is why the app keeps working with no signal — and why nobody, including us, can tell whether or when you were notified.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email address collected.
- No analytics or crash-reporting service. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or social SDK of any kind.
- No advertising, and no data sold, rented or shared with data brokers — ever, under any circumstances.
- No tracking across apps or websites, which is why GAINS never shows the "Ask App Not to Track" prompt: there is nothing to ask about.
- No profile of you is built anywhere outside your phone.
How long data is kept
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. GAINS does not automatically delete old entries, because the history is the product — a ledger that quietly forgot last year would be a worse app. Two things remove it:
- Settings → Erase my data deletes everything the app has stored, immediately and on the device.
- Deleting the app removes its storage along with it.
Neither requires contacting us, because there is nothing on our side to delete.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, including under the GDPR and the CCPA. Because GAINS holds your data on your device rather than on a server, you can exercise them yourself, at once, without asking us:
- Access and portability — Settings → Export my data produces a complete, readable JSON file of everything stored, which you can save or send anywhere.
- Erasure — Settings → Erase my data.
- Correction — your name, gender, weight and days are all editable in the app.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, so there is no opt-out to offer.
Children
GAINS is not directed at children and is rated for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects nothing to a server, we have no records to delete on request, but if you believe a child is using the app you can remove all of its data from the device using Erase my data.
Changes to this policy
If this changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Where a change materially affects what leaves your device, we will say so in the app rather than only here.
