GAINS

GAINS support.

GAINS is a gym accountability app. It keeps one record — whether you went — and it is not impressed by anything else. This page is where to get help with it, and where to find out what it actually does before you install it.

What GAINS is

Most fitness apps congratulate you. GAINS reads your calendar and is not impressed. It keeps a single record — did you go to the gym today, or didn’t you. Green if you went. Red if you didn’t. There is no third colour and no rest-day category, on the grounds that the day you invent one is the day your streak starts lying to you.

Each morning it sends one notification about where you actually stand, written for the day you are genuinely having rather than picked off a list. It will not be nice about it. That is the entire product, and the app asks you to agree to that before it will open — so nobody arrives at the tone by accident.

There is no account and no server holding your history. The record lives on your phone, and you can export all of it or erase all of it from Settings in one tap. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing sold to anyone. If what you want is encouragement, there are hundreds of excellent apps for that, and this is honestly not one of them.

Common questions

Notifications stopped arriving.
GAINS schedules its notifications locally on your device rather than sending them from a server, so this is almost always a permission that got switched off. Check that notifications are allowed for GAINS in your phone’s Settings, then open the app — it reschedules every time it launches, so opening it once is usually the whole fix.
How do I get my data out, or delete it?
Both live in the app’s Settings. "Export my data" produces a JSON file and hands it to the share sheet, so you can send it wherever you like. "Erase my data" clears everything on the device immediately. Neither needs us, and neither needs a support request — there is no copy of your record on our side to delete.
A message went too far.
Every notification carries a report action. Reporting a line means it is never shown to you again. If something reached you that you think should not exist at all, send it to us at the address above — that is exactly the kind of report worth reading.
Do I have to make an account?
No. There isn’t one. No sign-up, no email address, no password. Your record lives on your phone.
Is GAINS giving me training or medical advice?
No. It is not a coach, not a trainer, and not medical or health advice. It does not know your injuries, your history or your circumstances, and it cannot tell whether training today is safe for you. Those decisions are yours, and where they matter they belong with a qualified professional.
