GAINS
GAINS is a gym accountability app. It keeps one record — whether you went — and it is not impressed by anything else. This page is where to get help with it, and where to find out what it actually does before you install it.
Email us and a person reads it. Include your device and iOS version if something is behaving oddly — it usually saves a round trip.
Most fitness apps congratulate you. GAINS reads your calendar and is not impressed. It keeps a single record — did you go to the gym today, or didn’t you. Green if you went. Red if you didn’t. There is no third colour and no rest-day category, on the grounds that the day you invent one is the day your streak starts lying to you.
Each morning it sends one notification about where you actually stand, written for the day you are genuinely having rather than picked off a list. It will not be nice about it. That is the entire product, and the app asks you to agree to that before it will open — so nobody arrives at the tone by accident.
There is no account and no server holding your history. The record lives on your phone, and you can export all of it or erase all of it from Settings in one tap. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing sold to anyone. If what you want is encouragement, there are hundreds of excellent apps for that, and this is honestly not one of them.
The privacy policy is worth a minute even if you skip such things by default: it is short, and it lists what the app stores field by field.
